Most people would rather not hear this, you may be one of them, but here it goes, we were all made to work. I know it stings a little to hear that, and here is another one, it is not just Monday through Friday 9-5. Sorry about that! It is true the bulk of our work will be focused on what we do for a living to pay the bills and put food on the table, but work is so much more than that. And according to our creation mandate we are not to stop working even during our so-called retirement years if we are so abled. I am not saying we are not to enjoy the life God has given us, but He has created us and put us here for His purposes not ours.
Living in the 21st century there is a lot of concern of what our work will look like with AI fast approaching in the workplace. No doubt, there will be changes, some for the good and some for the not so good. Although AI will eliminate many positions in the workforce it will never eliminate work itself. Work was mandated by God to us at creation to carry out in this life whether we have AI or not. As some people worry over the loss of their jobs, others look forward to easier tasks at their present jobs or moving on to something else making life easier. Whatever the case, there will always be work to do. God will make sure of that.
So, whatever your situation in life, already working, just starting out in the work field, anticipating retirement, or retired from your life’s occupation, you will always have work to do. If your firm or company is in the process of eliminating jobs, be sure God know about it and will provide you with work He has for you. AI will never dissolve God’s work. AI will bring changes in the workplace, but we serve a never changing God whose creation mandate is still in effect.
